Services

NCF Heritage is based on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border but operates nationally, offering support and guidance in relation to a wide range of issues affecting the historic environment.

From high grade listed buildings and scheduled monuments to un-designated sites affected by issues of setting, NCF Heritage offers helpful support and clear, pragmatic advice to anyone dealing with historic buildings or sites.

Whether you are owners, prospective buyers, developers, architects or planning agents, NCF Heritage can de-mystify the heritage planning process, help you to understand the buildings or sites in terms of their ‘significance’ and ‘heritage values’, and talk through any potential areas of conflict in order to find successful solutions which will obtain the necessary permissions. Ideally the exploration of heritage aspects of a project would always happen early on, in order to inform proposals as they go, but this isn’t always possible and if involvement comes at a later date, providing discussion is free-flowing and proposals are open to feedback, NCF Heritage can help you navigate your way through the process towards a successful outcome.

The following services are an indication of how NCF Heritage may be able to support your project, but if your particular scheme doesn’t seem to fit any of these headings, please get in touch to discuss how me may be able to help.

  • Historic building recording, research and assessment
  • Heritage Impact Assessment
  • Statements of significance
  • Historic landscape and setting assessment
  • Conservation area assessment, including the development of appraisals and management plans
  • Non-designated heritage asset, and ‘locally listed building’ assessment

  • Negotiation with statutory organisations and planning authorities
  • Appeal submissions and representation at hearings.
  • Public consultation and community engagement, with particular experience of the voluntary sector
  • Training and development of resources/guidance
